After School Drop-In

Provides a safe and welcoming space for kids to come to after school. Activities, internet access, homework help and a healthy snack are important components of this program.

Kids ages 5-11 are invited to join us on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Youth ages 12-17 are invited on Fridays from 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Emergency lunch program

Nutritional lunches provided each school day for families in need/crisis.

Community Support Circle

For children with autism or neurodivergence and their caregivers. Come and relax with calm structured activities with other families who understand. No pressure to perform or “fit-in”, no judgement, no fixing.

Seasonal activities

The Family House works with the City of Ottawa to create opportunities such as I Love to Skate, I Love to Play Soccer, and I Love to Dance. These activities are offered seasonally.

Summer camps

Children ages 5-7 and 8-12 years old attend a summer day camp for two week periods during July and August. “Transitions” is a unique approach to participating in camp. Children develop and plan their camp together. They learn skills, have fun, and develop confidence, independence, and responsibility.

First work experience & employment training

The Family House partners with several organizations to create skills training and employment experience for low-income youth in the community.

Ready for school

Working with community partners, the Family House provides essential school supplies for children and youth at the beginning of the school year and in the new year for semester students. This program relies on donated items. Please contact us if you are able to help.
