Volunteers

Volunteer

Volunteers are the heart of our House! The skills and energy that they bring to a variety of programs are very much appreciated. On any given day volunteers help us facilitate programs, bag and sort food items, help with After 4 and Homework programs and serve on our Board and committees. Our volunteer needs change from time to time.

Please email info@debradynes.com if you are interested in volunteering with the Family House.

Some volunteer tasks may include:

  • Help with the After 4 program

  • Assistance with the Homework Club

  • Special events volunteers

  • Freebie Friday sorters

  • Food bank helpers

  • Picking up donations

  • Board membership

Monetary Donations

Financial donations and gift cards allow us to fill gaps quickly, purchase additional fresh produce, or can go directly to a person or family in need. You can donate:

In-kind donations

Donations of food items, hygiene products, seasonal apparel (jackets, mitts, scarves, hats, etc.), gently used toys, clothing, and household items are always appreciated. We connect your donations to the community to get it to those who need it most! Donations can be dropped off during our hours of operation.

*Please note that due to COVID-19, we are unable to accept many donations that we would have previously been happy to receive. Please call 613-224-3824 to confirm if we are able to accept your donation*

Items we often need include: baby food and formula, pasta, tuna, pasta sauce, diced tomatoes, peanut butter, canned beans (chickpeas, lentils, mixed beans), dried beans, flour, white rice, oats, cereal, and soups.
